Gold Coast: The head coach of Indian women’s team Ramesh Powar believes that Mandhana’s very stylish smriti at some point in the near future will be the captain of the side when he is seen as a potential leader.
Mandhana is the head and shoulders above all the batting colleagues during the disappointment series against Australia who lose 5-11 on multiple points.
“We looked at him as a leader.
At some point, he will lead,” said Powar after the end of the series.
However, he explained that he did not set time for change in leadership.
The 25-year-old Mandhana had one of the most interesting series where he scored 86 in ODI followed by 127 magnificent, tons first in the test, and then 52 though to lose to the last women’s T20i.
One of the biggest reasons for focusing on Mandhana as a potential leader is the fact that he is an inspiration for young players on this team.
“He inspired many young players in the team.
Obviously, we will judge very well.
The way he acts in the test is amazing, especially under the lights.
We know he will come well,” said Powar, praising Deputy Captain T20.
.
What is expected by Power in all this year is the consistency of Mandhana and Maharashtra’s dough finally shows signs of good things that can be expected in the future.
“One season (consistency), he will become a different player.
He gets a lot of time playing in the league throughout the world.
And it becomes an advantage like in India you don’t get so much time matches.” Powar is happy that in the British and Australian series, team management can provide many opportunities to younger players and also those who are on the outskirts.
“You need a character to win the World Cup.
We stand at the point where Mithali and Jhulan will come out at some point.
We test young bowlers like Meghana Singh and Renuka Thakur.
We want to test our players,” said the former Indian off-spinner.
Powar also explained that there was no room for satisfaction when Poonam Spinner Poonam was found after a consistent non-performance.
“If you don’t do your role, you will miss it.
We don’t allow someone to receive just like that.
The players who have to sit are given the right opportunity,” the coach said.
The All-Rounder Deepti Sharma’s lack of shots in the Middle-Overs overs have been the cause of worry and Powar told that coach Batting Shiv Sunder Das worked with Bengal players.
“Changes cannot occur in 10 days.
Coach Batting SS Das works with him,” he added.
