Colombo: Scan in West Indies debut Jeremy Solozano, who was taken to the hospital after being hit on a helmet while lowering in the opening test against Sri Lanka in Galle, showing “no structural damage”, the tour party said on Sunday.
Solozano was in a short leg when captain Sri Lanka Dimak Karunaratne pulled a short labor from Roston Chase to Grill of the Windies Operter’s helmet.
Solozano immediately took off his helmet and lay down, surrounded by teammates who were worried and both Batsmen Sri Lanka at Galle International Stadium when Physio team ran to the field.
The 26-year-old was brought to a stretcher and was taken to the hospital.
“The scanning Jeremy Solozano does not show structural damage.
He will be stored in the hospital overnight for observations,” said West Indies in a statement.
Shai Hope came as a substitute for the Fielder in the first match of the two-test series.
