Bengaluru: More than a quarter – around 27.5% – The target population of Bengaluru Regency from more than one Crore has been fully inoculated against Covid-19, while 20.8% of more than 4.9 the population target crore in this country has received both doses .
At 7pm on Tuesday, more than 28 lakh people from nearly 79.7 lakh who got the first dose in the district had received both Jab.
That is, almost 76% of the target population has been covered with one dose.
Relatively, more than one crore from nearly 3.2 crore people who have received the first jab in Karnataka have been fully inoculated.
Data burglary from Bengaluru Urban shows that within the boundaries of BBMP involving 198 wards at eight zones, more than 69 lakh, or 73%, of more than 94 target populations of the lakh have received the first dose, and almost 26 lakh of them (27, 3% of the target population) has been fully inoculated.
The rest of the district – five northern Taluk Bengaluru, South Bengaluru, Kengeri, my reform and Bengaluru East spread in nine city companies – have a target population of more than 10.6 lakh.
However, the number of recipients of the first dose in this field stood at 10.7 lakh or 100.9%.
Officials say people from neighboring areas have also received vaccines in PHC and other hospitals that have taken a total of more than the target population.
And, from 10.7 lakh people, more than 3.1 lakh have both doses.
Wise data of the district also shows that other than Benglaela Urban, 11 other districts – Chikkamagaluru, Chikkaballapur, Chitradurga, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, MySuru, Ramanagara, Udupi and Uttara Kannada – have exceeded the average country when it comes to those who has been fully inoculated (see chart).
But the northern district such as dualkav, Bagalkot, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppal, Dharwad and several other districts were poor, showing a sloping vaccination drive.
KV Trilok Chandra, Health Commissioner, said last week that the focus of the country will now reach a fairer vaccine coverage.
As reported by the previous TOI, the state has managed to manage more than one dose of crore in August – a record – and aims to provide two Jab Crore in September.
Health Minister K Sudhakar has said that the country aims to achieve 100% vaccination in December but does not describe whether it only includes people with the first dose or both.
