Chandigarh: Haryana reported 1,719 cases and 254 deaths of mucorcosis fungal infections for 100 days before Tuesday, according to information distributed by the State Health Department.
Rohtak has achieved the worst by fungal infections, because they have reported a total of 435 cases and 67 deaths.
In Haryana, of 1,719 total cases, 779 patients had recovered, while 582 were still in hospitals.
During the last one month, the number of new cases has decreased.
“Because this involves longer care, especially for those who have comorbidity, the recovery is quite slow.
In addition, the situation is controlled.
We also have sufficient expertise and drugs,” said a senior health official in the state.
The reason behind the high prevalence of Musormycosis in Rohtak is because it has an institute of postgraduate medical science.
Gurgaon has got 351 cases and 57 deaths.
Hisar had reported 401 cases and 55 deaths, while Faridabad reported 150 cases and 21 deaths.
This was followed by Karnal with 124 cases and 15 deaths.
Mucormycosis began to be reported in Haryana in the last week of April and the first week of May.
On May 15, Haryana stated Musormycosis as a well-known disease and designated medical college and tertiary care centers in the entire state as a nodal treatment center.
Announce reservations for oxygen beds and ventilator beds for patients, health authorities have ordered 20% -30% of the beds in hospitals for mukormycosis patients.
In addition, the government has ensured through notifications that amphotericin B injection drugs are provided for patients beside their beds.
