Guwahati: Assam on Saturday reached a milestone of two doses of Covid-19 Crore vaccine.
Despite reaching the 70% target of the first dose vaccination in the state, the second dose coverage of 16% turned out to be the biggest concern amid the threat of the third wave of Covid.
However, the chairman of Ministers Himanta Buswa Sarma and the Department of Health and Family Welfare were optimistic in “landmarks” achieved in the ninth month of drive vaccination.
“Proud to notify that Assam has reached a milestone in vaccination 2 crore to # Covid-19 today.
Congratulations to all health workers for this important landmark,” Sarma Tweeted.
The health department official said the level of vaccination was relatively low in the hill and regional regions dominated by a minority, while the first-dose inoculation targeted even crossed 100% in the capital Guwahati and Jorhat above Assam.
Data, released by the State Immunization Department at 9:30 a.m.
on Saturday, revealed that two Hill districts – carriicized Anglong and carriicch of Anglong – had witnessed each of the first dose vaccination of 38.29% and 45.98%.
There has been inoculation in two doses in West Anglong carriage.
The figure that is suitable for anglong carriage is 12%.
In Karimganj, Dhubri and Cachar Regency, which have a significant Muslim population, the target achieved for the first and second dose is clearly below the country’s average.
For the first dose, the target of 50.04% has been achieved in Karimganj, 50.18% in Dhubri and 56.92% in Cachar.
In the second dose case, Karimanj has seen 10%, Dhubri 8% and 14% Cachar Vaccination.
On the other hand, efforts by the Ministry of Health and Administration in Kecatrupup (Metro) and Jorhat Regency have resulted in tremendous success in the first dose inoculation.
In Kumbrup (Metro), the population in the 18-plus category is estimated at 11.07 lakh.
On Saturday morning, 11.65 lakh, including floating population, got the first shot in the urban district, took a percentage of vaccination to 105.23.
Among all the districts, Kumbrup (Metro) saw a second dose vaccination of 47% highest.
In Jorhat, the target estimated for the 18-plus category is 6.20 lakh.
However, statistics said 6.23 lakh (100.44%) had received the first shot in the district.
As many as 21% of the recipients registered in Jorhat have received a second dose.
“Overall, from 2.31 Crores from 18+ qualified populations, 70.09% have received the first dose, while coverage for the second dose is 16%.
