Bengaluru: Two people died and 29 were injured when the private bus was reversed while the driver was negotiating the curve on Jalan Maakali-Ghaati Subrahmanya, near Doddaballapur, 50 km from Bengaluru, on Saturday night.
The police said the accident occurred around 10:30 when the victims returned to their village after attending reception.
The injured and deceased were bridal relatives from the village of Pembarahalli in Gauribidanur Taluk.
The deceased has been identified as Shiva Kumar, 64, a farmer and population Thondebhavi, and Ramakrishna Reddy, 60, transportation agent from Belchakhahalli Village, near Gauribidanur from the Chikkaballatapur district.
The marriage was scheduled for the wedding room at Ghaati Subrahmanya in Doddaballapur Taluk on Sunday and receipt was held the night before.
More than 50 people from Pembarahalli and neighboring villages take the bus to go home.
“There is a 2 km curve from the wedding room.

The bus ran past the muddy road and fell to his right side,” said a police officer.
Who was injured in a hurry to the hospital in Doddaballapur, Gauribidanur and Bengaluru.
Shivakumar inhaled the last on the way to the hospital in Doddaballapur, while Reddy was declared dead at Gauribidanur Hospital.
Police said the injured – 14 was at Doddaballapur Hospital, 10 in Gauribidanur and five at Bengaluru Hospital – stable and out of danger.
Nishanth R, one of the injured, told Ti that passenger screams filled the bus when they fell on the roadside.
“I suffered an injury to the neck.
Passengers fell to each other.
It took 10 minutes for passengers to get off the bus,” he added.
