Udupi: Two grams of Panchayats (GP) in the Udupi district have reached the first 100% dose coverage with everyone above 18 years accepting at least one shot.
Kavradi and Nadur GPS have managed to manage the first dose of vaccines against Covid-19 to all of its qualified population.
Kavradi in Kundapur Taluk has a population target of 4.032, while Nadur in Brahmavar Taluk has an adult population of 1,888.
In the dosage cavradi given at the Primary Health Center Kandleur (PHC) with Dr.
Latha nayak watching the drive, while Dr.
Anil at Mandarthi PHON oversees coverage in Nadur.
President, Members and PDOs in both Panchayats, in addition to Accredited Social Health Activists (Asha), Anganwadi and Social Workers provide considerable support.
Overall, Udupi, which has a target population of 10.02,762, has reached 75% of the first dose coverage on Thursday.
While 7.51,150 has received the first dose, 2,81,820 fully inoculated.
Naveen Bhat, CEO, Udupi Zilla Panchayat, said 78% of the eligible population in the village had been given a shot.
“Village level task forces are responsible for ensuring the locals appear in vaccination camps.
They have worked efficiently, and these villages have not reported cases in large quantities,” he said.
Dr.
Mg Ram, Covid-19 District Nodal Officer, said: “There is a wrong idea that the third wave will only affect children.
This will affect all age groups so that everyone must take a vaccine.”
