Shimla: The State Government on Sunday signed 27 memorandum of understanding (MoU) worth Rs 3,307 Crore with various industrial sectors in Chandigarh which will provide direct and indirect employment opportunities to around 15,000 people.
Industry Director Rakesh Kumar Prajapati signed the MoU on behalf of the state government.
The Bikram Singh Industry Minister said the state led to ease of ranking business among neighboring countries Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Delhi.
The state government offers different advantages for investors such as affordable land costs, high quality and reliable power supply, proactive and accessible administration.
He said some investors have expressed interest in establishing ethanol units.
He said Himachal Pradesh was probably the only country in this region to have a sophisticated defense park in Nalagarh.
He said the proposals received were intended to invest in various sectors such as ethanol, medical devices, education and skills development, pharmaceuticals, paper making, food processing, health services, cars, industrial and industrial infrastructure as well.
According to him, some entrepreneurs have also shown a purpose in developing private industrial areas and amusement parks in the state.
The state government has made the provision of incentives and concessions in the 2019 HP Industrial Investment Policy to establish industrial estates and private amusement parks.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated a renovated heritage police assistance room in the history of Mall Shimla on Sunday, which is functional for the past 134 years, both today.
CM said the state government continued to strive to maintain inheritance in the state.
CM also urges company organizations to assist in development work based on corporate social responsibility.
