Bengaluru: A female police inspector and two other police officers attached to the RMC Yard station were suspended on charges of forcing a young man to consume marijuana and order a criminal case against him.
The young man, who reportedly begged the police not to force him to consume drugs, trying to end his life later but survive.
The suspended officer was the Inspector of Parvathamma, Sub-Inspector Anjinappa H M and Portable Umesh.
Probe Introduction revealed police trying to frame young people to show that they had cracked down on drug teachings.
Suspension orders were issued after a report from the Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Dharmender Kumar Meena to the police commissioner Kamal Paning on Tuesday.
According to the report, Parvathamma held two young men near Goraguntepalya on July 14 when performing patrol tasks.
“One of them smokes and throws it to see a police vehicle.
The police assume he consumed drugs and threw them away to see them.
He was taken to the RMC Yard police station.
There, the four police gave him a cigarette full of marijuana and told him to smoke,” The Gist of the Report Read.
The young man, who runs a roadside restaurant, reportedly refused, but he was told that they would free him if he smoked.
After the young man was obliged, two police officers took him to the hospital and made him test.
Medical reports confirm the consumption of marijuana.
Next, it was ordered and then released with a guarantee.
Upset by the incident, young people tried to end his life by consuming poisons on July 17.
“Fortunately, he recovered quickly.
The news reached us and we held an investigation department,” Meena’s report said.
Anjinappa recorded talk with DCP: on Tuesday, DCP Meena questioned Anjinappa sub-inspector for more than 25 minutes in his room.
Meena grew suspicious when he saw Anjinappa repeatedly touched his right pocket and directed his staff to be sad.
They found Anjinappa recorded his conversation with senior officers by turning to his cellphone recorder; 14 minutes of talks have been recorded.
