Guwahati / Kokrajhar: Three suspected Dacoit was shot dead when they tried to rob a bank in Kokrajhar Assam Regency in early Sunday, police said.
The police have intelligence input that the Dacoit gang will try to rob the Bank Allahabad branch at Bhotgaon near Kokrajhar City, a police officer from the district.
Previous seizure efforts the same branch was thwarted three months, he said.
The gang was intercepted in Chengmari near Bhotgaon at around 2:30 a.m., the officer said.
They allegedly fired a shot on security personnel to be intercepted, and in retaliation was released by the police, three intermediary intermediaries, he said.
Other gang members managed to escape, the officer said.
Dako who was injured was taken to the nearest hospital where they were declared dead, he said.
Motorcycles, cellphones, tools, gas cutters, two pistols along with oxygen cylinders recovered from those killed, the officer said.
“The operation took place late at night to flush the rest of the Dacoits,” said Director General of Police Bhaskarjyoti Manganta.
Minister of Himanta’s minister could Sarma praise the police’s efforts in preventing bank robbery.

This prevents major bank robbery,” he said.
Sarma also appreciated the police for Nabbing 15 allegedly supporters of Taliban on Saturday from various parts of the country.
“Assam must be crime free.
Murder, violence, hatred – this must all be removed from the country.
And we will continue to work until we reach our goals,” he added.
The death toll at the police meeting in the meantich in the country rose to 20 with this incident, while 31 people were injured because they were suspected of trying to escape detention since the new BJP-led government below May.
The Sarma government was under fire from opposition parties and activists rights to increase the number of people killed in police shooting.
However, the minister’s chairman has stated that state police have “full operational freedom” to fight criminals in the law ambit.
