Silchar: At least three people were killed and 12 injured, two of them were critical, when a truck trimmed it in front of Pandal Durga Puja in Katimorah Block of Cachar on Thursday night.
The source said the truck coming from Meghalaya through the NH-6 connects Shillong with stuff in Assam.
The accident took place in front of the Satarupa Committee Committee Durga Puja in Katirail at 10:30 a.m.
Two people were identified as Nilendu Rudra Paul (40) and Debabrata Goswami (50), both locality, died in place.
A few meters away, the truck hit the autorickshaw killing his driver identified as Haydar Hussain (30).
He was declared dead when he was taken to Silchar Medical College and the hospital.
Drivers and other passengers were injured critically in the incident.
When the truck was driven by carelessly, at all 12 people were injured.
All of them undergo treatment at SMCH.
Sumber SMCH said the two injured conditions were very important.
Police Post Katiogorah OC Manoj Narzari told that the police managed to stop the truck in thantung near Badarpur after passing the bridge above the Barak River.
However, the driver managed to escape.
