MySuru: The door to door survey conducted with the help of the local administration agency has revealed that 34,411 students aged between 6 and 16 are outside of school in the state.
These include 13,081 children who have never registered at school and 21,330 who have broken up in various classes.
According to data, there were 751 students such as Mysuru, 779 from Mandya, 1,046 from Shivamogga, 311 of Kodagu, 534 from Chikkamagaluru, and 481 students from Chamarajanagar Regency.
Following the Covid 19 outbreak, it is feared that a large number of children will come out of formal school for various reasons, including financial problems.
According to a circular issued by the Department of Public Instruction, three reasons have been linked to dropout problems during the survey.
This includes medical, financial and family problems.
The department asked all DDPI at the district level to ensure all these children returned to school by working on the strategy at the block level.
If parents and children do not show interest in attending classes, they will be advised.
“The Department of RDPR and Samagra Shikshana Karnataka works to restore these skids to school,” said R Vishal, Commissioner, DPI.
