Kapurthala: Police of the Kapurthala on Wednesday damaged a group of robbers by arresting four members and grabbing ammunition caches, all smuggled from Madhya Pradesh.
A total of 10 pistols, one modified Rifle .315 bore, six magazines and 11 live cartridges have recovered from them while two gang members fled.
SSP, H P S Khakh said that the Gang Robber was active in the district during the past and on Wednesday they arrested four of them.
During the preliminary investigation, it was accused of revealing that the gang was led by Harsimranjit Singh Simar and they planned to loot cash from the gas station and farmers carrying cash.
The SSP said that the criminals who were arrested also revealed that all weapons obtained from Madhya Pradesh from their gang Sweety Singh from Umrati Village, Barwani District from Madhya Pradesh.
He added that the police would produce it before the judge and would look for waste to complete further investigation and arrest the remaining gang members.
