Mohali: Deputy Commissioner Mohali (DC) Girish Dayalan has directed the District Education Officer (DEO) to carry out physical testing of students and submit reports to him.
Dalamalan issued an order after getting a report that no physical testing and examination was being carried out in government schools in all districts.
He also noticed that 40% of the total staff in government schools in all districts were not fully vaccinated.
Taking serious notes about this, DC directed Deo to issue orders to ensure a random physical examination of the school to check the details of school staff vaccination, including the principal, teacher, week and caregivers.
Dalaralan said, “We have observed that data from government schools was taken verbally while physical examinations were not carried out.
So, we have issued orders to Deo to physically examine staff and test part of the school children randomly, take action If it was found positive.
“Deo Mohali failed to produce data from the total children tested in government schools and if anyone was found positive and afterwards.
There are a total of 648 schools in Mohali, where 1,25,647 students have been registered.
Of these, only 1,620 students have attended classes, which are only 1.29%.
There were a total of 4,826 staff members working in these schools, including 2,874 was fully vaccinated and the rest had not received the second dose.
Recently, the team formed by DC to examine private schools found that the principal, teacher, pekumun and caregivers in many schools in the district did not even have a dose of single vaccination or only had one dose and interact with children at school.
Four school management members have been ordered under the relevant section.
These schools include Jitender Veer Sarvhitkari School, Sector 71, Senior Security School model, Kurali, Manav Mangal Smart School, Zirakpur and Delhi World Public School, Zirakpur.
Principal Kavita Attri from Sarvhitkari School has not taken a dose of Covid vaccine and he was found attending the office in his school.
School management has been booked under 58 years, 269, 270 of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC) and Section 51 of the disaster management law.
