Chandigarh: Forty-seven of the 95 Food Business Operators (FBO) run units without licenses, according to the recent survey conducted on the commandment of Yashpal Garg’s Health Secretary, who also holds charges of food safety commissioners.
They operate from Manimajra, Kaimbwala, Khuda Ali Sher, Dana, Hallomajra, Palda, Burail, Kajhereri and Maloya.
“We will start actions in accordance with food safety and standard, 2006,” Garg said.
Those who have licenses number 46 in industrial areas and two in Dara.
Recently, Garg has held a meeting related to the food unit that runs without a license.
The instructions were issued to the officers to examine their jurisdiction and took action against such operators and submit a complete list along with the actions taken by October 14.
A senior official said they would begin actions against 38 offenders under the Section 63 of the Security and Standard of Food Standards, 2006, and nine under Section 58 of the Act.
