Chandigarh: This city pocketed the first position among UTS in Maiden Safai Mitra Surexha Challenge 2021 which was regulated by the Ministry of Housing and Urban affairs.
This award began for the first time assessing and evaluating how many countries and UTS were carried out for repairing employees, especially cleaning Gotholes and Septic Tanks, by providing safety equipment and other facilities.
“The main goal is also to convert conventional methods of sewer cleaners, septic tanks, nallah and waterways into mechanics and rehabilitation of informal sanitation workers.
We have bought safety equipment for these employees and order four sewer cleaning machines.
Two of them have been received”, said a person senior officer.
Mayor Ravi Kant Sharma, who received awards in Delhi, said, “The ministry has launched the award to eradicate death due to the sewer cleaning and septic tanks.
In the past year, Safai Mitra Surakha’s challenge has been able to encourage the ‘Manhole to Machine Hole’ revolution in Urban India through initiatives such as Credit Relations Safai Mitras with banks, job training and Helpline settings number 14420 in more than 190 cities.
The MC has launched a conscious campaign on employees, putting banners at the roundabout.
