Mysuru: More than half (56%) of the target population in MySuru district has been fully vaccinated (both doses) against Covid-19, KH Prasad, District Health and family welfare officials expressed on Tuesday.
Prasad told reporters that a total of 24.4 lakh people who were eligible to receive vaccines, 22 lakh had been partially vaccinated, while 13 lakh had received both doses.
He said the drive was ongoing and effort was made to fully vaccinate the entire population of adults.
“We have reached 90% of the first dose coverage,” said Prasad, while showing an 84-day interval between the dosage for the covishield proves a little obstacle.
“We cannot reach 100% of the first dose coverage because people from rural areas cannot get the opportunity because of various festivals, government holidays and other reasons.
Asha workers and health workers will go to the door to encourage people to be invested.” At a person’s death A 39-year-old man from Ashokapuram, who allegedly suffered complications shortly after taking vaccines, Prasad said it was “wrong” to connect the death to the vaccine.
The man took a vaccine dose around 2:00 p.m.
on Friday and had to be received less than an hour later.
He died on Monday.
“The man suffered from various diseases including the problem related to the heart,” said Prasad.
“Every problem can cause his death.
We explain all this to his family members.” He said that there were no reports of problems with vaccines throughout the country.
“The central government has officially confirmed that the vaccine is safe,” he said.
