Poviet Kaur Chandigarh: Six years ago, the National Assessment Team and the Accreditation Council (NAAC), suggested that every department at Panjab University must have at least six teachers.
However, PU did not act on it and the condition of these departments was the same as before.
Only one to four teachers have been posted in more than 30 departments.
This has asked questions about the functioning of the University for the past six years.
Although teacher recruitment is proposed, nothing is done on the ground so far.
With the next visit the NAAC team expected in July, the university was in the same position as before, which might have an influence on its ranking.
Ashish Jain, Director, Cell Internal Quality Assurance (IQAC) said, “NAAC has shown some problems and everything is in the pipe.
We hope that when NAAC visits the university, things are sorted, which is expected to help increase university rankings.
We don’t Expecting a Naac Team Visit before the end of the year, so we thought that at that time, the problem raised by the NAAC team was completed.
“Depts Purah was influenced by the Department of Disadvantages of Teachers Teacher Nanak Dev Sikh Study, Music, Russia, Sanskrit, Germany, Urdu, Medical Physics , Nuclear medicine, cell stem etc.
PU is running through one fixed teacher.
According to sources, the Department of Human Rights, Police Administration, Social Work, Ancient Indian History, Chinese and Tibetan Studies, Gandhian and Peace, Indian Theater, Punjabi etc.
have been submitted to two teachers.
There are only three to four teachers in departments such as French, microbial biotechnology, physical education, psychology, forensics, biological systems, female studies, human genomes, environmental studies, information science, philosophy, public administration, nano science, etc.
The NAAC recommendation team suggests that a smaller department is combined into a larger department.
This includes a center that has one to two teachers or three teachers.
PU also formed a committee to merger department, but the proposal was not applied and supply was detained.
The senior teacher has expressed concern about the delay.
PU government officials said that the proposal was in the pipe and worked on the spread of teachers and the department merger would be carried out.
