Guwahati: India has entered the 100 crore vaccine club but 70% of the 18-plus population which qualifies in Assam has not been vaccinated with both doses.
Opinion is different than the exact number of 18+ populations to be vaccinated in the state.
But, according to the data available the Ministry of Health Union, Nagaland is the only state of the northeast where the second dose coverage is 30% high – equivalent to the All-India figure – achieved on October 18.
As far as the first dose, Assam is at the top among ne countries with 83% coverage.
Until Thursday night, 1.98 crore (1.98.17,338) in the state, accounted for 85% of the 2.33 crore population which qualified, was vaccinated with the first dose.
However, only 69.34 lakh (69.34.607) or 29.74% of the overall target can be vaccinated with the second dose.
Significantly, despite building capacity to autoculate four lakh people every day, less than two lakh people are vaccinated every day at Assam.
Nearly 1.48 lakh people were vaccinated in Assam on Thursday.
The source of the Ministry of Health said because of reluctance and doubts, a number of people have not developed for vaccination.
“Most people in far corners are among those who have not been vaccinated with JAB first,” said a health department official.
Minister of Himanta Minister Buswa Sarma Tweeted, “#Vaccinecentury is a moment to respect forever! We are very proud of your determination Adarniya Pradhan Mantri Sri @narendramodi who helped us achieve this historic achievement.
It also shows victory from your steel determination.” On Thursday, on Thursday, on Thursday The State Health Department in the meeting decided to accelerate vaccination to reach 2.10 crore of the first dose vaccination with urgency.
“…
We have updated the four-lakh vaccination target of people every day to complete the first dose inoculation,” Nodal officer from Covid Vaccination, Munindra Nath Ngatey, told TII.
