Chandigarh: Haryana Police on Wednesday confiscated 7080 bottles of strangers packed in 590 cartoons from two vehicles with DAK Parcel written in the Sonipat district.
Liquor was smuggled from Chandigarh to Uttar Pradesh.
Two people were also arrested in this connection.
Providing this information, a police spokesman told me that in the first case, the police team acted on a tip-off, confiscating a delhi registration number container near the village of Bhainswal and grabbed 4,440 bottles (370 cartons) from the IMFL.
Defendant Sunil, a resident of Sonipat Regency, admitted that liquor was smuggled from Chandigarh to Uttar Pradesh.
In another incident, the police had restored 2,640 bottles of IMFL (220 cartons) from pick-up vehicles parked in the area of Badota Village in this district.
The defendant who was arrested in this case was identified as Amit claimed that the consignment that was confiscated had to be supplied from Chandigarh and above.
The case was registered with the defendant and further investigation was ongoing.
