Guwahati: In the last minute decision, the Ministry of Education Assam dropped his plan to reopen school on September 1.
Official sources in the State Education Department on Monday confirmed that certain health problems had forced the department to wait before making a decision to resume.
“The government is not mood to risk with the health of school students because they have not been vaccinated.
The Ministry of Health has not raised concern, but the State Education Department is not confident starting offline classes,” said a senior education department official.
He further said that the Covid situation was not too encouraging in the state because the number of everyday cases continued to be more than 500.
“The Ministry of Health has no objections to the reopening of the school, but we will obey their new SOP to be published soon,” the official Added.
RANOJ Pegu, Minister of State Education, held talks with Assam student unity and various other customary organizations to bring reforms in the education sector on Monday.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the meeting, Pegu, said, “The Ministry of Education will not issue separate SOPs for reopening educational institutions.
We will take steps according to the Department of Health SOP,” he said.
Although the previous week said that class X, XII and the final level will begin in September, the Ministry of Education’s sources said decisions could invite flares if there was a further deployment of infection from the campuses.
They added that the Ministry of Education planned to allow students and teachers even with a single dose of vaccines.
But class X and XII students do not qualify for vaccination.
In the last soup published by the State Disaster Management Authority, the physical class for degrees and postgraduate students and medical high schools are permitted for students who are fully vaccinated.
For universities and general titles, there is no clear direction.
But only as 30.76 people lakh from Crore 2.31 from Crore estimated list recipients in Assam have got the second jab, a large number of students have been abandoned.
“There is no special drive to vaccinate students and teachers.
They must get a vaccine like other citizens,” said Assam Vaccination responsible for Munindra Nath Nathy.
