Mangaluru: A man charged with a violation under the protection of children from sexual violations (Pocso) acted to die after he allegedly jumped from the courthouse in Mangaluru on Tuesday, the police said.
The deceased has been identified as Raviraj (31), a resident of Jinya.
He jumped from the sixth floor of the Mangaluru District Court, said the source.
They said the defendant might have taken extreme steps due to mental trauma.
Raviraj was arrested for allegedly harassing a little girl.
The incident was reported below the Ullal Police Station.
