Guwahati: The Assam Education Department on Sunday announced that the Olympic bronze medalist, Boxer Lovlina Borghain, will be a brand ambassador and promote Samagra Siksha in the state.
Education Minister Romanj Pegu, made this announcement at the state-level teacher day event here, saying that the government’s decision to rope in Lovlina is to help increase the level of literacy in the state and encourage education for girls.
“Lovlina will work to promote education in the state with a special focus on the education of girls.
We also hope that he will play an important role in popularizing sports in the field of education here,” said Pegu.
When the government led by BJP has promised a Lakh government job every year, Pegu said the Ministry of Education would give an example.
“Without providing an unfair scope or an unfair way, the Ministry of Education will begin the process of appointing 23,000 teachers from September 9,” he added.
Schools, who are more than 75 years old, will be given a facelift, said Pegu.
“Each of 209 schools in this category will be given Hospital 3 Crore for infrastructure development,” he said.
Among the many steps, the minister told that special missions will begin to improve students’ performance in science, mathematics and English.
“Many of our students perform poorly in this subject.
The government will pump adequate funds for the success of the mission to popularize three subjects among students,” said Pegu.
Anundoram Boroah Award 2018 was presented to leading academics and undergraduate, the late Tabu Ram Taid, who was received by his family in this program.
Two teachers from Assam, Binanda Switerliary and Kidney Kishore Dutta, were respected with a national award to the teacher, 2021.
Rangkier, a teacher at KB Deulkuchi HS School, Tamulpur, was respected because of his role in exceeding the task of educating children and also popularized BODO literature in Students.
Dutta, a teacher in Bamunpukhuri Middle School, Kaliapii, Jorhat, is known for its innovative means to make interesting learning.
He has been awarded for his services to the community.
