Guwahati: Three people have been arrested for allegedly redeeming the signature of Himanta’s Minister of Main Buswa Sarma in connection with the construction project contract.
The arrest was made after FIR was filed on Wednesday, following a complaint by the Head of the Minister’s Head (CMO).
Those who were arrested have been identified as Imran Shah Chaudhary, Rajib Kalita and Das Das alias Rubu.
Police said Chaudhary and Kalita fled to New Delhi as soon as they learned about FIR.
Chaudhary, the puppeteer of fraud, was arrested by Police Assam in collaboration with Delhi police from the national capital on Sunday.
The city police arrested Kalita after he flew back from Delhi and landed at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI), while the DAS was held from Guwahati on Saturday.
Subrajyoti Bora, DCP (East Guwahati District District), said: “We submitted FIR after receiving complaints from CMO on Wednesday.
The complaint said a record, with a signature of CM forged, given to the Chief Engineer from public health engineering (water) for Sharing work orders to one Lohit construction of Sivasagar.
“He added,” In suspicion, the head of the engineer approached CMO, which verified the signature and found it forged.
” The police then picked up four Lohit construction employees, Binit Poddar, Dipjyoti Dutta, Jaimini Mohan and Gogoi Pankaj.
DCP said, “They revealed that they had been related to Chaudhary through Brother-in-law Jaimini Mohan.
Chaudhary claims that it is easy for him to get their contracts in the PHE department, directly through CMO.” Chaudhary has promised four employees of the two-contract construction of RS 3.16 Crore In return Rs 9 lakh as commissions.
