Circle Kr wears a newly changed appearance, the second intersection to redesign as part of a Palike plan
The new Kr circle is ready.
The Chairman of the Minister of Bumavaraj Bommai is scheduled to inaugurate a renovated intersection on September 15, which also coincides with the birthday of the 160th birth Bharat Ratna Awardee Sir M Vesvaraya.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) spends around Rs 2 Crore to put a multi-color paver block, build a fountain, install LED lights, etc.
KR Circles are the second intersection to be redesigned as part of the BBMP plan to increase as many as 45 intersections in the city.
The Civic body recently developed the Windsor Manor Junction by doing several interventions including the ‘Make In India’ logo installation.

“We will soon designate Chalukya Circle,” Ashok for the executive engineer responsible for the BBMP Traffic Technique (TEC) said.
He said that the work of repairing the intersection at RT Nagar Circle was almost finished.
In Kr Circle, BBMP has also installed the statue of Sir M Vesvaraya, which will be launched by the main minister on Wednesday.
The intersection, the official said, was being developed as a public space with an improved appearance.
The riders also stood up to benefit from a new makeover because round rounds are expected to reduce travel time by half a minute.
The BBMP seems to be in a colorful mood, the intersection has been designed by the architect of the dialogue and symphony of the land.
“Spectacular makeover,” said Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar in his tweet about the design of the KR circle.
“Bengaluru is known as a city of circles.
Most of the main road intersections have a beautiful roundabout.
Increased flow of traffic has consumed most of them.
One of the few survivors who have been given spectacular makeover,” he said.
Meanwhile, some citizens said that BBMP invested most of its resources in increasing only the Business Center (CBD) area.
They want the Civic body to provide basic facilities such as a freeway before spending funds on beauty.
This is one of the few circles that survives in the city that has been given a spectacular makeover – Dr.
K Sudhakar, Minister of Health
‘Experimental’ circle
This is not the first time the KR circle has been changed.
It is one of the first intersections to be signal free when the traffic signal is replaced with a rotary system where the vehicle can change.
However, because this system fails to work, the traffic signal is brought back, and rotary has been removed.
Then, even it has been removed and recently, the round stone is placed at the intersection.
Circles have undergone several changes with every traffic experiment carried out there.
Previously, there used to be a big circle.
Then, Kr Circle (from the Subording Chatram Road) is made in one direction.
Then, it was made two-way after cutting down the tree and widened the road.
Pedestrian underpass is built so they don’t need to cross the road and block traffic.
Then, a vehicle underpass was built near Cubbon Park Road so that the vehicle coming from Vidhana Soudha can go directly to Nrupatunga Road to avoid KR circular traffic.
Then, the average height increases so that Jaywalkers can be limited.
