Guwahati: The expulsion of the Assam government in Darrang Regency as part of its encouragement of “encroachment” on Monday, which left 800 homeless families, has caused sharp criticism of the opposition and aIudf congress.

“This is the third time since 2016 that the authorities have carried out massive evictions in the Dholpur Sipajhar area without regulating any alternatives, which are truly anti-democracy.
If these people are not given financial assistance and provide land for cultivation, then Their livelihoods will be affected.
We demand immediate rehabilitation, “Saikia said.
Aamsu has been seeking an investigation of eviction.
“We have protested the eviction of anti-minority, inhuman and unconstitutional, where three mosques are destroyed without showing respect for the religious sentiment of minorities.
We have been seeking direct rehabilitation of people who are only given three days to empty their homes,” said MD Imtiaz Hussain, Secretary General Aamsu.
Another human rights lawyer, Safe Wadud, said the government was “unfair” and “prejudiced” to people who did not have land only because of their “identity”.
Head of Minister Assam Himanta Buswa Sarma said the eviction was aimed at starting community agriculture as part of his encouragement for “encroachment”.
