Mangaluru: A 15-year-old boy was successfully operated due to a heart injury at the Indiana Hospital and Heart Institute.
Dr.
Moosa Kunhi, head of cardiovascular surgery in the hospital, said that it was a magical escape from the death to Hudaf from Badiadka in Kasaragod District Kerala who rushed to the hospital gasping after falling in his chest for falling when playing football.
He said that the boy was successfully treated by carrying out heart operation at high risk of emergency.
When he arrived at the hospital, the boy was restless, confused and with low blood pressure.
The heartbeat is more than 180 per minute.
There was no external injury in the chest but Dr.
Yusuf Kumble, the head of the cardiologist intervention, suspected internal injury and possibly to the heart.
The diagnosis is correct and confirmed by emergency e ekocardiograph, which shows large amounts of blood has been collected around the heart in the pericardial cavity which causes the understanding of what is known as ‘Heart Tamponade’ (deadly condition of emergency) which can eliminate life in a few minutes.
If it’s not treated properly, said Dr.
Kunhi.
Emergency settings are made to carry out open heart operations.
During the operation, we found a large amount of blood flowing out of the heart through tears, almost three centimeters in the heart’s right room.
This causes severe compression in the heart and low blood pressure so that it lacks blood flow to the brain.
It was a great situation to see all the blood escaped from the heart.
Bleeding is controlled by sewing holes in the heart.
There is damage to organs such as the thymus and lungs too.
The operation lasted for four hours, he added.
