Within a few months, Karnataka police will be the first in this country to involve the scene of the Crime Officer (SOC) of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in the crime scene.
Like in the West, the SOC team will become the first respondent.
They will collect DNA, fingerprints and other vital samples at once.
Until the arrival of the Soc team, the police will bind a place to avoid contamination.

“The first respondent must be a SOC official from the FSL.
After they finished collecting samples, they could submit a place to the police.
This is a practice in many Western countries.
Karnataka will become the first country to follow this in India,” said Praveen Sood National Police Chief.
The department has recruited 54 scientific officers and has pointed them.
84 other positions are in a pipe for whom the recruitment and they will be appointed in five regional forensic science laboratories (RFSL) in November.
A total of 140 scientific officers will be appointed at five RFSLs.
According to DGP, at this time, the cost sheet was postponed because the FSL report did not arrive on time, due to large suffering.
“Our analysis shows the funds in three parts – cybercrime, DNA and handwriting.
Three parts are only in Bengaluru.
Therefore we will establish these parts in the regional FSL.
DNA is for violations of women, especially sexual attacks and handwriting for cheating cases, “said Sood.
For the first time in Karnataka and in the country, the police department has sent 54 scientific officers to Gujarat for training at the National Forensic Science University, the first university of its kind here.
They will also go to the Center Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad in the second phase of the training, and in the third stage, under the guidance of the Karnataka Police Department.
“This scientific officer will undergo training for a year at the institution and another year in the field,” DGP explained.
“About 206 SOC officials have been approved.
We will trigger them within one month,” said the BM.

We will establish these parts at FSLS-Praveen Sood, DGP, Karnataka
Personnel for all FSLs in the state
Personnel will be distributed throughout the FSL country – around three to four in each district.
Cases such as rape, murder and robbery need a SOC team as the first respondent.
Socs is equivalent to sub-inspectors, even though they are civilians and not police personnel, said a senior police officer.
They are scientists who analyze crime scenes.
The chain of prisoners is maintained and contamination is prevented, officials added.
At present, the department has one state-level FSL in Bengaluru and five RFSLs spread across the country.
Support for FSL in the state comes from three sources: State Government, Modernization, and NIRBHAYA Fund Center – RS 13 Crore from NIRBHAYA funds, around RS 20 Crore from modernization, and approximately around Rs 10 Crore from the state government.
Utilizing these resources, the FSL is preparing advanced equipment.
DNA and cyber equipment are being imported.
More power for existing RFSL
“We will strengthen the existing RFSL.
This year we will open two RFSLs again, each in Ballari and Hubbali.
In each FSL, there must be seven specialties – narcotics, biology, physics, chemistry among others.
We have seven times It’s only in Bengaluru, “said Sood.
Mobile FSLS.
At present, there are six advanced van forensic science laboratories launched to RFSL.
The other eight is being prepared: “gradually, we will launch one van for each RFSL.
Scientific officers can go to a crime and all tests can be done in a place in the van.
The cultural shift will occur in the next one and a half years in the Karnataka Police , “The officer said.
