Mangaluru: The ‘Theerthera Snana’ or Holy Bath at Shri Kshetra Nellitherha Somandanghwara Guhalaya (Temple), Neerude Kompadvu, about 30 km from here will begin on October 17, said NV Sripathi Bhat, Walizha, Nellitherha Dharmika Trust.
He told the Toi that the temple was located in a beautiful cave that had Shivalda called ‘Jabaleshwara’ and a pool called ‘Nellithertha’ inside.

Looking further to the other side of the pool shows the existence of openings for other caves, which is about 8-10 feet above the ground.
At the entrance of this cave, there is a famous Shivalda Jabaleshwara embedded on earth.
The height of this shivalda is about three legs.
The main temple outside the cave is open throughout the year.
However, the last day for a holy bath is on the day of Sankramana Mesha, which usually falls on April 14, every year, Bhat said.
