Bengaluru: A quick special court for the protection of children against sexual violations (Pocso) acting in Tumakuru has cheated 25-year-old young man to a hard prison sentence to threaten to attack a girl with acid if he does not accept a marriage application.
Judge N Krishnaiiah also slapped the fine of RS 25,000 in S Shankar from Huliyurdurga in Kubigal Taluk from the Tumakuru District.
Public Prosecutor GV Gayatri Raju said the statement by 12 witnesses, including the police, the girl and the passer who saw the prisoner spoke to the girl, helped secure confidence.
According to Gayatri, Shankar, a unemployed young man, has broken into the girl’s house, then a student title first year, on the night of February 26, 2019.
“Previously in the afternoon, Shankar blocked the girl when she returned home from college.
Shankar Objection with the girl did not talk to him and rejected his marriage proposal.
Finally, he told him that he would come and talk to him at night and he had to oblige him.
He threatened to throw acid into his face if he refused, “Gayatri added.
Shankar sneaked into the girl’s house at 2:30 a.m.
“Shankar knows the girl’s grandfather has a habit of coming out of the house at night to relieve him.
When he came out at 2:30 a.m., Shankar entered the house, but was arrested by other family members,” said Gayatri.
Huliyurdurga police arrested him and ordered it under ACT Pocso.
