MANGALURU: Youth Congress at Dakshina Kannada district will start’Give us the’ vaccine’ campaign demanding shots for youths, villagers along with also the bad.
District Youth Congress president Luqman Bantwal told reporters on Tuesday that the government has neglected from the vaccination drive.
“The source of vaccines need to be made accessible for the bad.
However, the BJP government has embraced a policy which guarantees vaccines just to the wealthy.
It’s stopped vaccinating people from the 18-44 age group, whereas private hospitals are promoting it,” he explained, adding Youth Congress members at the district can campaign under the motto’Give us the’ vaccine’.
“Vaccination is an important weapon to resist the virus.
However, the government has failed on several fronts.
The vaccine pricing plan which enables organizations to fix prices due to their projections itself is anti-people.
It is going to also result in corruption and people expressive in the poor strata of society is going to be deprived of this,” he explained, adding the faulty vaccination coverage of the central authorities has resulted in the next wave of the outbreak.
Former MLC Ivan D’Souza stated the authorities should make sure supply of vaccines to people health centers, rather than insisting individuals to visit private hospitals .
“The health division must realize that Covid-19 instances can be decreased by 50 percent through Legislation.
The department must consider about starting a door-to-door vaccination drive,” he further added.
