GUWAHATI: A newly handed out physician was brutally attacked by the family of a Covid individual who perished at a Coronavirus Care Centre in central Assam’s Hojai district Tuesday.
They vented their ire to the physician, following the seriously ill patient expired even before he can be changed out to some hospital.
The physician was seriously hurt but his illness is reported to be secure.
“There individuals are detained in relation to this incident.
The physician was known Nagaon for improved therapy,” Hojai SP Barun Purkayastha told TOI.
Chief Union Himanta Biswa Sarma led police to book the offenders, as medical fraternity condemned the episode in strongest possible words.
“Such incidents strikes on our frontline employees will not be taken by our government,” Sarma tweeted, requesting Assam authorities to make sure that the offenders are brought to justice.
Indian Medical Association’s (IMA) Assam state division detained in most strongest terms the barbaric attack on a newly handed out physician Dr.
Seuj Kumar Senapati.
The medicos’ human body cautioned that the authorities which the medical fraternity is finding it extremely tough to control feelings in this hour of general public health crisis.
“IMA and the doctors are at a loss at this grisly reward to some frontline employee in Covid obligation.
IMA requires prompt arrest of all of the offenders and reserving them under most of strict laws of this property,” explained IMA condition president, Dr Satyajit Borah, also honorary secretary, Dr Sikha Sarma, in an announcement.
