Mohali: District has recorded the highest blood-blooded fever case of 3,168 and 32 deaths in Punjab.
With more than 50 days it is still left to end 2021, cases have reached new heights in Mohali.
The highest was 2,524 before in 2013.
A total of 17% of the total cases in 25 districts came from Mohali which contributed 49.23% of the state fatalities.
In 2016, the district had most cases of dengue fever in Punjab with 2088, where 1,125 came from the city of Mohali.
Similarly, in 2017, Mohali recorded 2,112 cases where 1,044 came from the city itself.
A total of 1,079 cases were reported in 2018, 576 in 2019 and 471 in 2020.
On Saturday, the district reported 95 new cases of 254 samples tested, said Civil Surgeon Dr.
Adarshpal Kaur.
Kaur said, “Dengue is rich human malaria because people from high-income groups usually plant puppies who need pots to be filled with water all the time.
They also build a variety of water-based structures such as fountains, which is the perfect site for mosquito larvae breeding .
“He said to deal with dengue effectively, the government has produced a comprehensive strategy that focuses on micro-management and set targets for the next seven days in which the multipurpose health workers will be mobilized on dengue prevention task.
