Bengaluru: Close on the heel of the state government decision for memo curfew, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has decided to extend operating hours from Thursday (November 18).
“Depart the first train of all terminal stations (Nagasandra, Silk Institute, Kengeri and Byappanahalli) will be 6am on weekdays (Monday to Saturday) and at 7am on Sunday,” said press release from BMRCL.
“The last train departing from the terminal station will be 11pm every day.
However, the last Metro train service at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Station (Majestic) towards the fourth direction will be 11:30 a.m.
all day long”, he said.
Currently Namma Metro operates the train from 6am to 10pm.
On November 5, the state government pulled at night at night after the number of Covid cases was reduced in the city.
Toi has brought a report entitled ‘Night hours appointed, commuters want Metro Namma to midnight’ on November 7.
The report highlights the request of passengers to run the Metro train from 5am to midnight and also about the inadequate BMTC service after 8pm.
Meanwhile, BMTC on Monday decided to run more night service.
“BMTC operates 70 night service buses at 48 routes from the main bus station to various parts of the city”, the BMTC release said.
