Mysuru: The city of Nanjangud has arrested a man for allegedly drown his wife who was pregnant to death and then tried to kill his two children near the Temple of Srikanteshwaraswamy Bathing Ghat on Tuesday.
The defendant has been identified as Rajesh, 40, from Muddahalli Village in Taluk.
Fishermen watched the man tried to sink his children Mallesha, 4, and Moules, 2, on the Kapila River and save them.
They could not save his wife Rajesh Devika, 35.
According to the police, the man brought Devika and the children to Ghaton bathing with the pretext of offering Puja in a temple around 7:30 p.m.
He sank Devika on the river first.
Devaki Puttasiddaiah troops filed a complaint, after that the police arrested Rajesh.
Police said marriage disputes were reasons behind crime.
