Bengaluru: After trapping a bribe who received an individual Rs 20 Lakh in Delhi, Sleuth CBI on Friday arrested the official of the National Highway Authority (NHAI), Bengaluru, and the other four in the case of bribery accused.
Arrest is an Nhai Akil Ahmad regional officer, Ratnakanan Sajilal, Devendra Jain, Pratap Singh Tomar, Sunil Kumar Verma – All of Dilip Buildcon Ltd – and other individuals, Anuj Gupta.
CBI Sleuth invaded various places connected with the defendant in Bengaluru, New Delhi, Kochi, Gurugram, Bhopal, and elsewhere.
About RS 4 Crore Cash was confiscated from the premise of individuals in these places while Rs 4 Lakh cash was restored from the NHAI regional officer’s premise, the CBI press release said on Friday.
The regional officer was allegedly in the habit of demanding and accepting illegal satisfaction from the NHAI contractor to clear the delayed bill and publish the date of commercial operations while the projects were completed, the CBI said.
“Further dishes that officers demanded illegal satisfaction from the general manager of a private company in connection with the project under the package of Benguluru-Chennai Expressway 1 and 2.
Also the alleged RS 20 Lakh will be sent to individuals.
