Manali: Traffic in this resort city at Himachal Pradesh came to jam on Tuesday morning because of snow last night.
After a cold night, the residents woke up to frozen taps and ice roads.
People have to pour hot water on the tap.
Tourists complain with hotels about water without water.
In many places, the pipes broke.
Residents of Manali Jaswant Thakur said: “After what looked like the coldest night of the season, everything was frozen in the morning.
Frozen taps, long traffic congestion, and ice breeze welcomed us in the morning.
The streets are not worth driving, so We have to walk.
“The pedestrians often fell over a slippery path and many of them suffered a minor injury.
Travel to Manali freezes and the vehicle stops moving.
National highway Kullu-Manali is not safe outside Aluground, 5 kilometers in front of the city.
The road to the Hylamba Temple, Manali Lama, Vashisht, Solang, Prini, Kanyal, and almost every major place has become slippery.
Thousands of vehicles are jammed until late afternoon when the sun melts ice in several places.
However, walking in several shades remains slippery throughout the day.
Kullu SP Gurdev Sharma said: “Walking in some of the places is slippery.
The area outside Manali has too much snow.
The road outside Nehru Kund is very slippery, so tourists are not allowed beyond this point.”
