Bengaluru: The third wave tends to peak next week – on January 25 – in Bengaluru, with a daily fresh infection touching 35,000 cases, BBMP officials told the Chairman of the Bakavaraj Bommai Minister during the Covid-19 review meeting on Monday.
Bengaluru reported 25,595 new cases on Tuesday, taking active cases in the city to almost 1.

The fuelp projection at peak is based on week-on-week hikes, which is around 250%.
While the BBMP has not determined the dominant variant circulating, the source suggests it is Omicron, given the majority of infected people report high fever, congestion, body pain and cough for a brief duration.
Two independent data trackers told TOI: “It seems that almost every other household will have at least one positive case during the third wave.
It won’t be surprising if the daily count crosses 35k.
If we take into account those who do a Covid self-test at home without coming below BBMP radar, the daily count will be much higher.
“Bengaluru reported 810 positive cases on January 1 and the number rose to 6.812 on January 7 before touching 22,224 on January 15.
Data from the last 15 days shows Bengaluru reported a daily average of 8,800 new cases.
The document showed BBMP South Zone reported 19,500 cases in the past week followed by the East Zone with 18.
Case 7K.
Dasarahalli reported at least 3,380 cases.
The surge is associated with the spread of the community and the increase in travel to work.
“The increase in travel between houses and work will trigger the appropriate increase in the case,” said Dr.
As a reply, the Chief Health Officer, BBMP.
“Most positive G testin people are those who use public transport such as buses, metro, autorickshaws and taxis.” Dr.
KV Thrilok Chandra, Special Commissioner, Health, BBMP, said the increase in testing had helped identify cases quickly.
“We save close eyes in the micro detention zone.
We have increased testing and this has helped identify and early detention,” he said.
In the area outside the boundary of the BBMP, Anecalies have seen an increase of 367% – from 1,004 cases in the first week of January to 4,691 in the second week.
“An aneccant, on the border between the two main states, is also a hub for traders.
The graph up is not surprising,” said a senior health officer from the Taluk Anecalion.
