Ludhiana / Chandigarh: Almost a dozen homes and offices belonging to Punjab CM Chararjit Singh Channi and several servants were sought in a joint attack by the Directorate of Enforcement on Tuesday as part of a new probe into the accusations of money laundering associated with 2018.

Raids was carried out in 10 locations in Punjab’s Ludhiana, Mohali and Pathankot, related to Channi’s nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey (now living in Mohali).
Raids related to the information report on the enforcement case (ECIR) registered on November 30, 2021, in the case of illegal mining submitted by Punjab Police in Mohali in 2018, where entrepreneurs Ludhiana Kudratdeep Singh is the one accused.
Bhupinder is one of the directors in companies through which kudatdeep believed to have washed money printed through illegal sand mining.

ED Sources said looking for Channi nephews and colleagues had several documents related to property and Indian currencies worth more than Rs 6 Crore – Rs 4 Crore from the Bhupinder Singh residential place in Ludhiana and around Rs 2 Crore from housing places.

At Chandigarh, Ed conducted a raid on the rented flats used by Bhupinder Singh in Sector 70 Mohali.
The eight members of Ed members reached the flat around 8am on Tuesday and the raid continued to archiving the report.
The Raiding team also took one person from the flat together with them in the vehicle at around 11:30 a.m.
The ED team also found Inova Crysta (PB-09-AG-600) with MLA Sticker inserted on the windshield parked outside the community’s tower.

Even though ED officials held themselves not to share any information, the people of the people said that Bhupinder used to come in this vehicle and they were sometimes used to seeing the police come to the rented flats.
