Chandigarh: Covid active cases increased 77 times in the last 19 days in the city.
The count rose from 129 to 9,966 and the level of participation from 1.23% to 25.91% in that period.
According to data provided by the Integrated Disease Supervision Program (IDSP), 14 Covid patients died in the city in January to date.
Nodal officer UT Covid-19 said, “The city has seen a maximum increase in Covid’s positive case because of the third wave.
The administration has advised people to be vaccinated and refrain from visiting public places.
Wearing masks is the key.
As a measure of prevention, coaching institute , Markets are jammed and other places where public rush is expected to be closed or their timings decrease to reduce the spread of the virus.
