Chandigarh / Shimla: Covid cases continue to increase in the region, with Punjab, Haryana and Himachal reported 5,664, 7,516 and 755 new cases in the last 24 hours.
Apart from new cases, 30 Covid patients lost their lives in Punjab, while 12 had died in Haryana, and two in Himachal.
In Punjab, the total number of positive Covid cases has now reached 7.13,445 and 16,978 patients have died to date throughout the state.
According to the State Department of Health, Punjab has a total of 46,472 Covid active cases on Sundays and the level of participation is 13.28%.
The highest number of seven Covid patients lost their lives in Ludhiana, followed by Jalandhar (5), Mohali and Pathankot (3 each), and Hoshiarpur (2).
Mohali district recorded the highest number of 1,084 positive Covid cases, followed by 836 in Ludhiana and 703 in Jalandhar.
Haryana on Sundays see another day of decline in new cases and the level of prospective and recovery exceeding new cases.
Haryana reported 7,516 fresh cases, 12 deaths and 7,683 recovery.
The level of pepositives is recorded to 20.45%.
Meanwhile, 63 new omicron cases were reported throughout the state.
A maximum of five deaths reported from Karnal.
Himachal Pradesh reported 755 positive cases on Sunday, while 1,227 was declared recovered.
