Guwahati: The Chairman of the Minister of Himanta Buswa Sarma on Monday said all efforts will be made by the state government to change the Sindung, the first capital of his Ahom in the Dhemaji Assam District above, became a major tourist destination.

Sarma attended the Me-Dam-Me-PHI program which was held centrally by the State Cultural Affairs Department and the HADPA Development Management Committee.
He took part in the ritual offered prayer to the ancestors and also inaugurated the building of Sindung Chao-Chen-Ren and Holung Ho-Phi which was built with funds provided by the state government.
Sarma also talks about many steps that must be taken for the development of Sindung, including the construction of a guest house by PWD near Ho-Phi Building, establishing an ethnic village in JABO to show off traditions, customs, cuisine, and clothing of various ethnic communities, among others.
He also called for All Tai Ahom Students (upper) to take the initiative to establish an international level auditorium and the TAI Ahom Museum.
Sarma directs the Minister of Education and Dhemaji MLA Ranoj Pegu to submit a proposal for the development of all roads connecting to Sukung, while announcing that the boundary and ‘Toran’ land of Sindung land Chao-Chen-Ren will also be built.
Sarma also announced that each RS 20 Lakh will be provided to build Chao-Chen-Ren in 50 villages and said that these places of worship will be inaugurated simultaneously on the Dam-Me-Phi next year.
Next, 50 more Chao-chen-Ren will be built years later, he added.
“The state government is committed to preserving Ahom’s heritage.
This year, in connection with the birthday celebration of 400 Lachit Borphukan (General AHOM), the state government will regulate two international symposiums in New Delhi and Mumbai and make documentaries in English and Hindi in life And the great works of Ahom General, “he said.
The minister’s chairman also announced that the steps would be taken to develop the Maidam (grave) of Lachit in Jorhat and he asked for the upper thorough upor to set up 50 Bghas near Maidam for the purpose.
Likewise, he announced that a project would be taken to make Rang Ghar, one of the oldest amphitheater who was still alive in Asia, the rich Cultural Heritage Center of Assam Covering 100 Bighas.
Minister of Bimal Bora’s Cultural Affairs, Disaster Management & Minister of Management Jogen Mohan, Minister of Tea Welfare Sanjay Kishan, Mlaas Prashanta Phukan and Manab Daka are also present, among others.
