Guwahati: Congress has officially communicated with Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) to announce his candidate for the prestigious majuli chair represented by Sarbanou Sonowal during his tenure as Assam CM.
Akhil Gogoi-LED Raijor Dal instantly decided to support the Alliance of Congress-AJP which all will be sealed at any time.
PCC President Assam Bhupen Kumar Borah and President Ajp Lurinjyoti Gogoi discussed on Sunday night before attacking poll transactions.
“We have decided to leave the Majuli chair to AJP.
Lurinjyoti Gogoi told me that he would deliver the final decision today or tomorrow,” said Borah on Monday.
Majuli’s chair, where EC has announced the election by March, lying empty after the former Chairman of Sarbanou’s Sonowal minister was appointed in the Modi Cabinet last year.
While the BJP in power can involve an experienced politician from Majuli, AJP is ready to face the Safron Party with a young face.
“We will announce our candidates for Majuli.
Congress gives us a commitment that they will support us.
As far as regarding the selection of candidates, it will be our call,” Lurinjyoti told Toi on Monday night.
He said the party would give his ticket to a new face in Majuli.
“Our candidates will most likely be from the Majuli themselves.
A local leader who can understand the problems and local problems,” he added.
The great old party came to understanding with AJP, floating on the initiative of the Assam (AASU) student union and the Allied organization, in the last election held in October but the NDA alliance could not be rejected.
But this time, when the battle of intense polls is on cards in countries such as Uttar Pradesh, which can determine the precedent for the 2024 general election, new political forces have dared to face the giant in Majuli.
Although the BJP and Ally United People’s Liberal (UPPL) party won all five seats at Bypolls Assam last, Lurinjyoti said they would not rest except BJP from power.
“Nine months after taking over the government led by BJP under Himanta Buswa Sarma, the experience of the People’s Assam has been terrible.
From the price increase to the threat to the democratic ethos of the police meeting, the BJP government has failed to give his poll promises,” Lurinjyoti said.
President Raijor Dal and Sivasagar Mla Akhil Gogoi said defeating BJP must be the destination of all anti-BJP parties.
“BJP must be defeated.
The public sector is being sold under their regime on the one hand, and on the other hand, the country is divided in the name of communal jingoism.
Development has been jammed,” said Gogoi, added that his party would campaign for victory candidates AJP.
