Guwahati: The cinema in the state is still closed even though the government nodded to continue filtering with a 100% capacity because the owner waited to release a new film.
Chinmoy Sarma, President of the Association of the Hall of Assam Hall and also the owner of Anuradha Cineplex, who is 50 years old, said, “The state government has provided a nod to continue filtering with 50% occupancy on October 1 last year.
Now, the government has nodded for 100% occupancy .
But the hall is still closed because there is no new film to the screen.
However, some multiplex is filtering old films.
“He said the cinema filtered several Assam films released in recent months but drawing a small crowd.
Some Assamese films, including Ekalavya, life in dolls and Goru was released in recent months, which was screened in theaters.
Assam Power Districed Company Limited (APDCL) has cut off power connections to many cinemas because they do not pay permanent electricity costs and even impose penalties.
