Guwahati: Higher Assam Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) on Monday convinced the All Assam Student Delegation (AASU) that the Public Bihu paper in the XII State Council exam This class would not be removed this year.
Some regional organizations opposed the alleged alleged education council to “stop the subject”, the biggest festival of Assam, by quoting a lack of qualified teachers and practical handbooks.
The subject was introduced in class XI in the 2020-21 academic session and the first batch of around 900 candidates, which chose to electrify paper, will appear for this year’s board.
However, after the APEX ASC body meeting in January, various organizations were worried that Bihu and Swadesh Adhyayan (a paper on History and Geography Assam), will be canceled.
Speaking to Toi, Chairman of Ahsec, Rukma Guhain, said that there was no such decision to memo of each subject or paper taken.
“The accusation that the subject of the BIHU will be removed is incorrect.
We sent the minutes of our peak body meeting to the state government but the decision to withdraw the subject was not taken,” said Guhain recently.
He, however, acknowledged that without qualified evaluators to carry out practical checks on Paper Paper, the education council had faced a dilemma.
“Without the right feasibility study, the subject of the BIHU was introduced.
The government has not appointed any teacher, which academically qualified to teach the subject of the bihou,” Guhain added recently.
He said the bihou paper would have a 70% battery material on practice, and thus, the exponent of the bubble with the qualification required as an external evaluator for impartial assessment.
He also said there was no mobility up from the subject of the bihou and students would not be able to study the subject at the undergraduate level in the next college.
Also, AHSEC officials raise concerns that the Board will soon follow only subjects under the parameters of the National Curriculum Framework, because the Ministry of Education Assam will implement a new education policy from 2023.
“It is unclear if the subject of the bihu will be under the NCF parameter,” said source at ahsec.
The Secretary General of Aasu Sankar Jyoti has promised to reject the plan to remove the Bihu and Swadesh Adhyayan from the curriculum.
