SHIMLA: With decline in positivity rate and increase in recovery rate, situation with regard to Covid-19 pandemic is improving in Himachal Pradesh.
In the state six districts have recorded positivity rate of less than 5% during the week from June 3 to 9, four districts have recorded positivity rate between 5 to 10% while two districts have recorded positivity rate of over 10% but less than 20%.
Earlier many hospitals were witnessing higher occupancy rate but now rush of admitted patients is decreasing and majority of beds are unoccupied.
As on Thursday of the total 3989 beds only 750 beds were occupied while 3239 beds were unoccupied.
According to health department officials, a total 196944 persons have been found Covid positive till Thursday (2pm) in the State.
During the last month, the number of active cases has continuously declined and has reached a low of 5928 active cases as on Thursday (2pm).
Officials said that during last week (May 31 to June 6), total 5634 positive cases with positivity rate of 5.3% were recorded in the State.
The number of deaths and case fatality rate (CFR) during this period was 170.
The State is witnessing a fall in the positivity rate over the past few weeks.
For the week from June 3 to 9, only two districts of Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti had positivity rate above 10%.
Kinnaur district had recorded positivity rate of 19.74%, Lahaul-Spiti district had positivity rate of 12.21%.
During the same period four districts of Bilaspur, Sirmaur, Shimla and Kangra had recorded positivity rate between 5 to 10%.
Bilaspur district recorded positivity rate of 7.59%, Sirmaur district 7.24%, Shimla district 5.63% and Kangra district 5.20%.
In the state six districts including Chamba, Una, Kullu, Solan, Hamirpur and Mandi have recorded less than 5% positivity rate.
Chamba recorded positivity rate of 4.93%, Una 4.33%, Kullu 4.22%, Solan 3.67%, Hamirpur 3.55% and Mandi 3.07%.
