GUWAHATI: City authorities on Monday detained owners of two medications, 1 supervisor and one medication distributor in relation to providing and selling replicate pacemaker apparatus to an attendant of a coronary patient around the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) premises.
The accused are recognized as Bibhash Patowary (proprietor of Rodali Medication ), Zahangir Hussain (director of Rodali Medication ), Purnoram Deka (proprietor – cum-manager of Zenifer Medicoz) and also Gobind Podder (medication distributor).
They’ve been booked under Sections 297, 420 and 406 of the IPC and delivered behind bars.
A supply in Bhangagarh authorities told TOI two medications were found included in the situation.
“Rodali Medicine purchased the replicate pacemaker in Zenifer Medicoz and marketed the device into an attendant of a cardiac patient admitted to the GMCH.
We’ve arrested the proprietors of the pharmacies, 1 manager and also the providers.” Guwahati authorities commissioner Munna Prasad Gupta told the press the Bhangagarh authorities violated the racket acting on a complaint lodged by the hospital authorities.
Police suspect that the team is closely involved with providing such copy pacemaker devices in different areas of the city.
The hospital police lodged the complaint with authorities after regaining a replica pacemaker device in the surgery theater on Saturday.
GMCH chief Dr Achyut Baishya required strong action against the pharmacists.
He stated,”The thing came to light following Dr.
Pranab Bhattacharya asserted it for a replicate pacemaker when managing a cardiac patient in the GMCH.
We need stringent action against the offenders.” Denying the charge, the owner of these Rodali Drugs stated they’d purchased the item from the distributor.
“Our supervisor has visited the distributor in addition to the bill.
We’re not engaged in some act of duplicity.
The item was procured by the distributor and consequently, we offered it on the consumer,” he explained.
