BENGALURU: Sr Elizabeth C S (57), principal of Jyoti Nivas College (JNC), died of Covid on Tuesday after a 50-day long battle.
She was laid to rest on Wednesday.
Sr Elizabeth, a student of JNC herself, joined the college as a lecturer in psychology in 1992.
After becoming the principal of pre-university college, she moved on to become the vice-principal in 2004 and later principal in 2010.

She was a dynamic personality, with a soft corner for the poor and the deprived.
She was pleasant, caring and approachable, just like how everyone remembers her,” said Sr Rosily K J, the administrator of the college.
Alumni and current students mourned the death of the principal.
“My college principal passed away today after battling Covid for a long time.
She took me in and gave me a home when I had no place to go during my last semester, protected me against a stalker.
I will forever be in her debt…What a lovely teacher she was.
She taught us abnormal psychology in the last semester and we had so much fun going to her block and sitting in her AC room,” wrote Sreya, an alumni on her twitter handle.
Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, the chairperson of Biocon Limited expressed her grief on the demise of Sr Elizabteh: “I am deeply saddened to hear this tragic news.
RIP.”
