Chandigarh: Punjab district with a higher level of participation than the average country is not enough to test.
The test level in these districts is under the overall test of countries per million populations and some of them even fail to match the national average, which is much lower than the average testing of Punjab.
With a highly contagious Delta variant (B.1.6.17) from Covid-19 becomes the most dominating variant, low testing and high input ratio in these districts has emerged as a cause of concern for health authorities.
The total number of countries from 1,653 tests per million populations is higher than the average seven national day of 1,405 tests.
Data from the Punjab Health Department revealed that as many as 13 districts were testing less than the country’s average, in which seven districts had higher levels of participation than the overall average of the country.
The worst performing district was told to increase TestingMohali District which recorded the highest level of 2.5% of the week only 928 tests per million populations during the last seven-day period.
The Punjab weekly ponytitude level, which refers to the percentage of positively positive Covid-19 people tested, stood at 0.7%.
Ferozepur is the second worst district that is the worst with a level of 1.9%, which is more than the average country.
The district conducts 911 tests per million populations in the last seven days.
In Fazilka, 1.381 tests per million were carried out and 1.7% of the samples were tested positively.
In Bathinda, 1,492 tests per million were carried out and the weekly peposititivity was recorded at 1.5%.
Recording low testing and high ponytics, the Ministry of Health has directed this district to increase priority testing and also to ensure higher positive reasons than the country’s average.
Punjab uses reverse transcription chain reactions (RT-PCR) and quick antigen tests to detect Covid-19.
Tests are considered the most important factor in controlling the spread of the virus by identifying people who are infected earlier and isolate them.
RT-PCR testing capacity of state government laboratories has increased from 26,750 in January 2021 to 45,500 in June.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1.07.95,548 samples have been tested in Punjab which implies that more than 36% of the state population has been tested.
For every lakh, as many as 36,155 samples have been tested so far.
Punjab is slightly better than neighboring countries Haryana (34,787.7 tests per lakh) and Himachal Pradesh (33,019 tests per lakh).
