Ludhiana: Bharatiya District Leaders Janata Party (BJP) held protests against uncertain power outages and failure of the Congress Government in providing the power supply to the public.
On Friday, BJP leaders gathered at the Chief Engineer of Powercom office at Ferozepur Road in Ludhiana Punjab and protested.
The leaders claimed when they entered the Chief Engineer office he was “not available but the air conditioner in his office was turned on while the department had appealed to the public and private sector for several days”.
The heavy police power was deployed at the Powercom office and one fire tender was also placed there to avoid all kinds of unwanted incidents.
Leaders condemned the Congress government even because of its failure in providing the power supply needed to consumers both industrial, domestic or industrial.
BJP District President Pushpinder Singhal said, “The Congress government really fails to provide fundamental things for the public and uncertain power cuts in this destroyed heat have made high and dry people.” He said what to talk about about promises made at the time of election, the Congress government even took the things given to the public.
He claimed that CM Captain Amarinder Singh did not have control over the minister of cabinet or the department and the condition of this power situation also when the department of power was under CM’s control proved many things.
He said when cm did not have time to interact with officials it was clear to officials to ignore their responsibilities than they became corrupt.
Asking about the increase in oil prices and protests by the leaders of the congress he said before advising anything to tell the government congress must apply the same thing.
“Congress must reduce VAT first and I also agree that petroleum products must also be under GST and there are single rates for electricity throughout the country,” he added.
